Hospital reports say two Kurdish men, Osman Siban and Servet Turgut, were thrown from an army helicopter in Van. While Siban still suffers from memory loss, Turgut died after 20 days in intensive care - September 2020. Turkish police officers shooting live rounds to disperse children who are breaking the coronavirus lockdown 2020 by playing in front of their homes in the Kurdish town of Nusaybin. A child is heard saying,"brother, brother" the neighbours are heard shouting from their balconies/windows that the child is mentally challenged. February 2020, the 12,000 year old ancient Kurdish town of Hasankeyf in Turkey has been emptied of it's residents and is slowly drowning as a nearby government-built dam fills up. Local residents, activists, politicians, and artists opposed the dam and tried to save the town since 1997.
On June 14, 2017, Pakize Hazar was walking with the help of a stick to the local post office to get her old-age pension in in the Lice district of the Kurdish province of Diyarbakir. Turkey, recorded that armored police or army vehicles have killed at least 23 civilians by running them over and six others by firing at them in the Kurdish region mid-2016. Six years after the massacre of Cizre, when 288 people were killed in 2015/2016, there has been no effective investigation, and not one person has been tried. Lawyers talk of taking the cases to the European Court of Human Rights. Roboski massacre of 34 people, including 19 children, from Roboski village of Uludere in southeastern Sirnak province who lost their lives in a bombardment of Turkish fighter jets on December 28, 2011, near the border with Bashur, Iraq.
Maras Massacre, December, 1978, 120 people were killed and 3000 wounded including women and children over 6 days with around 600 houses and 300 shops burned down in Kahramanmaras, Turkey. The massacre by the Turkish State (CHP party lead back than) in which 10.000s Kurdish Alawites (Alevis) in Dersim were murdered in 1937-1938. Zilan massacre, survivors of a horrific massacre in Van province recount the tragedy that befell them at the hands of Turkish soldiers in the summer of 1930. While the numbers of those said to have been killed during the event vary, those who survived the incident put the numbers at around 45,000 deaths.
